Our Reference Book Database is under the superior of Harvard University Yenching Library, Chicago University library, Princeton University library, Peking University Library and Fudan University Library, which has involved "Zhong Guo Da Bai Ke Quan Shu"/Chinese Encyclopedia, "Han Yu Da Ci Dian" and "Ci Hai". The database now has more than 1000 titles of reference books coving dictionaries, encyclopedias, indexes, bibliographies, brochures, diagrams, charts, schemes, excerption, political papers etc… Some librarians have made the evaluation and comments on this database for some time, such as librarians from Harvard University.
“I try this database and am VERY satisfied. It is totally different from the last version. I believe Apabi really understand what we want in our dream--a super electronic database of most important encyclopedias, dictionaries and other reference books. Now you can have one search to find all the texts in all these reference books. For example, I searched "Mao Zedong" and there are 14075 items. "Jiang Jieshi", 5295 items. "Mo ni jiao", 483 items. I read many items of "Mo ni jiao (Manichaeism)" and I believe that all the items are relevant to Manichaeism. I worried that it may include too many useless items for one search before I tried. I find there is none after I tried. And I make sure they already have "Han yu da ci dian" and "Zhongguo da bai ke quan shu"--the 2 of the most important references books in this database. ……” - Mr. Xiao-He Ma, Chinese librarian of Harvard University Yenching Library |
